The Kudu: The Ghost Antelope That Vanishes in Plain Sight
In the thornbush of Africa, there is an animal you can look straight at... and still not see. It stands taller than a man, carries horns like twisted ivory, and when it decides to disappear, it simply does.
The greater kudu is Africa's ghost antelope: a giant among antelopes whose white stripes shatter its shape in the dappled shade, whose legs can clear a two-meter fence from a standing start, and whose spiral horns twist into weapons of ivory. It can go weeks without drinking, hide its calf in the grass for weeks, and live its whole life in plain sight while the world looks right through it.
This is the story of the vanishing king of the bush: the stripes, the horns, the leaps, and the silence that keeps it alive.
