Khana Kaba (also spelled Kaaba or Kabah) is a building at the center of Islam's most important mosque, the Masjid al-Haram, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the most sacred site in Islam and the focus of the hajj pilgrimage. The building is a cube-shaped structure made of granite, and it is covered in a black silk and gold curtain known as the kiswah. Muslims around the world face in the direction of the Kaaba during their daily prayers. It is believed to have been built by the prophet Ibrahim and his son Isma'il. It is also considered as the first house of worship built by Ibrahim for the worship of one God.
