Clock Tower (GHANTA GHAR) Sukkur (گھنٹہ گھرسکھر) A Hindu businessman, Seth Wadho Mal Nebhau Mal Manjhari, constructed the tower to mark the silver jubilee of King George V. It was inaugurated by the then Collector of Sukkur, UM Mirchandani, in 1937. At the foot of the near by hill, with many famous buildings, is Clock Tower (GHANTA GHAR) (گھنٹہ گھر) famous, bustling, neuralgic center of all trade and entrance to the bustling bazaar and central market of fish, meat and vegetables. The population and the traffic on the road have increased many wrinkles, which makes it difficult to move. On the east side there is an uphill road approaching MEER MASAOM SHAH MINARE (میر معصوم شاہ مینارہ), but this street is rightly used for traffic from the first moment. The Clock Tower (GHANTA GHAR) (گھنٹہ گھر), built by wise British administrators, is evidence of their worthy commitment to the reform and development of society in the area. The people of Sind still praise the noble services of ANGREZ BADSHAH (English Kings) when they remember their time, which was reformed before independence and the creation of Pakistan. Ghanta Ghar is not the only clock tower in the city. In 1939, the then collector, Kothawala, started building another tower opposite the Gulshan Eid Gah at Stadium Road. Constructions were completed in 1940. By: Muhammad Atherullah 2023 © by Muhammad Atherullah Cell: + 92 333 7121182
