Dramas, action films and disaster films set on board an airplane are legion: after all, the closed-door aspect of the thing and the spectacular aspect of crashes help to create this fascination. And in all this cinematic universe floating between heaven and earth, Plane offers some good moments, but nothing more. The rest of the film, as seen in the trailer, takes place on dry land as the captain, crew and passengers must survive on an island where bandits reign in terror. From a director who has largely shot action movies, including a revival of Assault on Precinct 13, John Carpenter's work, Plane feels almost like a war, or guerrilla, rather than a war film. a disaster feature film. There's no doubt that Richet loves fights and gunfights, and those are particularly successful in Plane. In addition to Butler, who is generally always able to find his place in this genre of films, note the presence of Mike Colter (Luke Cage), who plays a murderer on the run who has worked for a long time in the French Foreign Legion.
