Blonde hair
Blonde hair should not be confused with albinism, a mutation caused by recessive genes that suppresses the production of melanin.
According to a theory put forward by Canadian genetic anthropologist Peter Frost, blonde hair became more common in the north during the post-glacial period about 10,000 to 11,000 years ago. In Europe, the big game hunted by men was the main source of food, causing a large number of men to die during long hunting trips.
