Russian missiles strike Kharkiv, Tank Coalition Eyes 100 Leopard 1s For Ukraine
Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko says that Ukrainian troops are doing all they can to save Bakhmut. Kyrylenko claimed that “almost 52% of the Donetsk region is now controlled by the Ukrainian government, Ukrainian Armed Forces". Russia said that its forces killed over 20 Ukrainian troops and destroyed a self-propelled howitzer in the Kherson region on Feb. 7. Ukrainian officials reported at least six explosions in Kharkiv on Feb. 7. Ukraine has said that it expects Russia to target Kharkiv or Zaporizhzhia regions in its anticipated offensive. A video shared by Ukrainian officials appears to show Russian military vehicles being destroyed by a drone strike. Kyiv also released footage that appears to show Russian fighters dragging their wounded officer and beating him up. Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands will send more than 100 Leopard 1 battle tanks to Ukraine by spring 2024. US President Joe Biden called Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine a “murderous assault”.
