God of War 4 - Kratos Kill Badlur Scene God of War (2018), also known as God of War 4, is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is the eighth installment in the God of War series, but it is a soft reboot of the franchise and serves as a sequel to God of War III. The game follows protagonist Kratos, who has moved on from his days as a Spartan warrior and is now living in the Norse realm of Midgard with his young son Atreus. The story takes place years after the events of God of War III, and Kratos is now a father and a mentor to his son. The game features a new over-the-shoulder camera angle, as opposed to the fixed camera angles of previous games, and introduces new gameplay mechanics such as the ability to throw and recall Kratos' axe, as well as new combat systems and puzzle-solving elements. Throughout the game, Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to fulfill the dying wish of Atreus' mother, which takes them through the Nine Realms of Norse mythology. Along the way, they encounter various gods, monsters, and other creatures, and must use their wits and skills to survive and complete their quest. God of War received widespread critical acclaim upon its release, with particular praise for its graphics, storytelling, and gameplay. It won several awards, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2018, and has been cited as one of the best video games of all time.
