Check their overall health: Make sure that all of your chicks are healthy and active. Check for any signs of illness or injury, such as lethargy, difficulty breathing, or deformities.
Provide warmth: Chicks need to be kept warm during their first few weeks of life. Make sure that the temperature in their brooder is between 90-95 degrees Fahrenheit (32-35 degrees Celsius) for the first week, and then decrease the temperature by 5 degrees Fahrenheit (3 degrees Celsius) each week.
Offer food and water: Your chicks will need access to food and water immediately after hatching. Provide them with chick starter feed and clean water in a shallow dish or waterer.
Keep their brooder clean: Regularly clean out the brooder to prevent the buildup of waste and bacteria. Provide fresh bedding, such as wood shavings or straw, and remove any wet or soiled material.
Monitor their behavior: Observe your chicks closely to make sure that they are eating, drinking, and behaving normally. Look for any signs of distress or discomfort, such as huddling together or excessive peeping.
With proper care and attention, your chicks should grow healthy and strong during their first day and beyond. Good luck!
