On March 15th in Indian history, the following events took place:
1950 - The Indian Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly, which came into effect on January 26, 1950, marking the beginning of a new era for the country.
1971 - The Indian Parliament passed the 26th Amendment to the Constitution, which lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 years.
1985 - The first ever Women's World Cup of cricket was held in England, with India participating in the tournament.
1991 - Former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, announced the release of 52 political prisoners from Jammu and Kashmir.
2001 - The Indian Parliament was attacked by terrorists, leading to the death of 14 people, including five terrorists. The attack was one of the deadliest terror attacks in Indian history.
2017 - Yogi Adityanath was appointed as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, India's most populous state.
