Presidents of India from 1947 to 2023

The President of India is the head of state and first citizen of India. The president is elected by the members of an electoral college, comprising the members of the parliament and the members of the legislative assemblies of the states of India, in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote. Since the independence of India in 1947, there have been 14 Presidents.
