A significant earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 6.5 hits northeast Afghanistan, causing trembling across broad sections of Pakistan and Tajikistan. There was light to moderate shaking recorded across the area, including Lahore, Islamabad, Kabul, Peshawar, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi. Parts of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan have also experienced shaking.
