Ukraine Downs 11 Russian Drones Heavy Fighting In Bakhmut
Russia launched a series of attacks across the country of Ukraine, Kyiv said that its air defence units shot down 11 out of 16 Russia’s Iranian-made Shahed drones over the past day. Ukraine’s military said that its forces repelled over 100 Russian military attacks over the past day. Russia’s Defence Ministry said that its forces killed 65 Ukrainian soldiers in southern Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Pro-Russian official Vladimir Rogov said he suspects Ukraine will launch a counterattack towards Zaporizhzhia soon. Vladimir Putin has signed a law criminalising slander against participants of Russia’s “Special Military Operation”. Zelensky has signed a new decree to sanction hundreds of individuals, including Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Ukrainian Commander Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi has said that Russia has used all its forces in Bakhmut in an effort to surround the city. Russia’s Foreign Ministry has said that it will continue to demand answers to questions about the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage. UK’s Defence Ministry claims that Russia is looking to widen its conscription in an attempt to give a boost to its military. US officials said that its surveillance drone flights over the Black Sea had already resumed. US President Joe Biden said the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for Putin is “justified”.
