Ice Cream Faluda - KGIC
Falooda is a popular South Asian dessert that consists of vermicelli noodles, basil seeds, milk, ice cream, and various other ingredients. Here's a recipe for making a creamy falooda at home:
Ingredients:
1 cup falooda sev (vermicelli noodles)
4 cups whole milk
1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp rose syrup
1 tbsp basil seeds (soaked in water for 10-15 minutes)
1 scoop of vanilla ice cream per glass
Chopped nuts for garnishing
Instructions:
Cook the falooda sev according to the instructions on the packet. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
In a large saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. Add sugar and cardamom powder and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Add the cooked falooda sev to the milk and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes or until the sev is soft and the milk has thickened. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Once the milk mixture has cooled, add the soaked basil seeds and rose syrup. Stir well.
To assemble the falooda, take a tall glass and add a spoonful of rose syrup to the bottom. Add a few spoonfuls of the milk mixture on top.
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the glass, followed by a layer of the soaked basil seeds and a layer of the cooked falooda sev.
Repeat the layers until the glass is full, ending with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Garnish with chopped nuts and serve chilled.
Enjoy your homemade creamy falooda!
