Dinosaurs were a diverse group of reptiles that lived millions of years ago during the Mesozoic Era. They ranged in size from small, bird-like creatures to massive, long-necked sauropods and ferocious predators like Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The first dinosaurs appeared about 230 million years ago, and they quickly became the dominant land animals, thriving for about 165 million years before they were wiped out by a catastrophic event about 66 million years ago, most likely an asteroid impact.
There were many different types of dinosaurs, including the herbivorous ornithologists and sauropods, and the carnivorous arthropods. Some of the most well-known dinosaurs include Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brontosaurus, Velocipede, and of course, the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Today, scientists continue to study and learn more about these fascinating creatures through the study of fossils and other evidence left behind from their time on Earth.
