Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed 3/4 cup buttermilk 1 large egg Instructions: Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add cold butter and use your fingers to work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. In a small bowl, whisk together buttermilk and egg. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture and stir until just combined. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until it comes together. Pat dough out into a circle about 1 inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or cookie cutter to cut out biscuits.
