The upcoming general elections in Pakistan are set to take place on or before 13 October 2023. The anticipated change in civilian leadership comes at a time of political, economic, and environmental turmoil in the country, with significant security risks on the rise. There have been several controversies about the elections, including confusion and disagreement on when the provincial elections for Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) will take place. Since the vote of no confidence in April 2022, there have been consistent rumors about the general elections getting delayed or derailed.
