Today I have a new restoration video for you. My friend asked me to restore the legendary SVT-40 bayonet knife from the Tokarev system. This item is from the era of the Second World War. The condition of the item is bad, but I will try to fix it. Well, I'm starting to restore the item! The first duty I began to disassemble the bayonet. I tried to remove the original canvas suspension as carefully as possible, it broke into two parts. But I'll decide that later. Next, I removed the plastic pads from the knife, because there were always wooden pads in the original. I put all the metal parts in a jar with a rust remover. I put the canvas suspension in a jar with water and laundry detergent. After a while, I took out the metal makers, including the scabbard, and placed them in a jar with warm water and soda to neutralize the acid. I cleaned the screws and nuts from the knife handle with a cord brush. The canvas suspension was washed and ironed. After that, I went to the seamstress to sew the suspension well. I leveled most of the dents on the steel scabbard with the help of homemade metal molds.
