2023 Asian Games Highlights: Rahmat Erwin Abdullah Breaks World Record for Indonesia's Fifth Gold

Rahmat Erwin Abdullah broke the world record to present Indonesia with a gold medal in the men's 73 kg weightlifting event at the 2023 Asian Games. The lifter from Makassar was the best with a total lift of 359 kg. Rahmat lifted 158 kg in the snatch and 201 kg in the clean and jerk. In the clean and jerk lift, this 22 year old lifter broke the world record in his own name. Meanwhile, the total force broke the Asian Games record. Thai lifter Weeraphon Wichuma (351 kg) won a silver medal and North Korean lifter Oh Kumthaek (344 kg) won a bronze medal.
