Independent.co reports the Trump administration is sending “hundreds” more federal law enforcement agents to Minnesota to protect ICE and Border Patrol, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said, adding: “We’re sending more officers today and tomorrow. They’ll arrive, there’ll be hundreds more.” The deployment comes as Minneapolis mourns 37-year-old Renee Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE officer last week, and amid ongoing anti-ICE protests and some clashes with federal law enforcement.

Officials say immigration raids continue. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has called on ICE to get “the f***” out of the city and accused federal forces of heightening tensions, while the FBI is conducting an investigation into the shooting that some local leaders have said may not be trustworthy given administration statements about what happened.

Department memos and responses have added to the dispute: Noem issued a memo asking lawmakers to give seven days' notice before visiting detention facilities, a move criticized by Democracy Forward, and ICE’s acting director said not all officers have body cameras because of funding shortfalls.
