ONE INTERSTATE DRUG PEDDLER NABBED BY SOT, LB NAGAR ZONE TEAM ALONG WITH CHAITANYAPURI POLICE, RACHAKONDA – SEIZED (4.2) KGs CONTRABAND NARCOTIC SUBSTANCE (POPPY STRAW DRUG) On credible information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone team along with Chaitanyapuri police busted an interstate drug syndicate by apprehending one interstate drug peddler Ramesh Kumar and seized Contraband Substance Poppy straw and other incriminating material all W/Rs.15,00,000/- from his possession. Cr. No.608/2023 U/s 8 (c) r/w SEC 21(C) & 29 OF NDPS ACT OF CHAITANYAPURI PS OF RACHAKONDA POLICE COMMISSIONERATE. The details of the accused persons:- 1 : Ramesh Kumar S/o. Babu Ram, age: 33 yrs, Occ: Steel Railing Works, R/o. Near Ramaalayam Temple, Nagole, LB Nagar, N/o. Mokhawa Khurd, Barmer district, Rajasthan State. 2 : Chenna Ram N/o. Rajasthan State. Mobile Phones- (02) All worth about Rs. 15,00,000/- Brief Facts:- As part of proactive action against drug peddlers, the sleuths of SOT, LB Nagar Zone along with Chaitanyapuri Police, Rachakonda busted an interstate drug syndicate and apprehended one person by name Ramesh Kumar. The accused Ramesh Kumar migrated to Hyderabad 10 years ago and running steel railing business in the name and style as Rahul Steel Railing Works located at Nagole, Chaitanyapuri. Due to financial problem, he decided to earn easy money by selling of Narcotic Drugs. A few months ago, he came in contact with one Chenna Ram, N/o. Rajasthan State who is a drug supplier since than he started purchasing of Poppy Straw drug from Chenna Ram and selling it to needy customers in Hyderabad City. The accused Ramesh Kumar used to procure contraband narcotic substance (Poppy Straw) from Chenna Ram for Rs.50,000/- per kilogram and used to sell the same for @ Rs. 4,00,000/- lakhs per kilogram. Later he used to prepare the poppy straw powder at his house and kept ready for sale as per demand. Concentrate of Poppy straw is a product obtained in the process of extracting alkaloids from poppy straw. Poppy straw concentrate also known as crushed poppy capsule and it is a major source of Morphine. By using these poppy straw concentrate, Morphine and Heroin are manufactured for illegal trading of Drugs. There is a ban on sale and trade of Opium and poppy straw.
