Craning over their mobile phones to a newsflash in the pub, how the public found out about Kate's cancer diagnosis around the globe
From craning over their phones to watching the news announcement in the pub, here is how the public across the world reacted to the news about Kate's cancer diagnosis.
In an unprecedented video message, the Princess of Wales announced tonight that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing 'preventative chemotherapy.'
The future queen said in the video: 'In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous.
'The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.'
People across the UK and around the world gathered to watch and read the announcement. Many of whom were spotted outside Buckingham Palace reading the news on their mobile phones with looks of shock and concern.
