Avicenna, or Ibn Sina, was a great philosopher, scientist and doctor from Persia who lived in the 11th century. He is known as the "Father of Modern Medicine" and the "Sage of the East". Avicenna was born in Bukhara, Persia, in 980 AD. He began studying science at a very young age and showed extraordinary intelligence. At the age of 18, he had mastered all the knowledge available at his time. Avicenna wrote more than 400 books on a wide variety of topics, including philosophy, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, and chemistry. His most famous work is the "Kitab al-Qanun fi al-Tibb" (Canon of Medicine), which was the standard medical textbook for centuries. Avicenna was also an influential philosopher. He developed a system of philosophy that combined elements from Aristotle, Plato, and earlier Persian philosophers. His philosophy focuses on issues such as metaphysics, ethics, and psychology. Avicenna died in 1037 AD in Hamadan, Persia. He left a remarkable legacy as one of the most influential thinkers in history.
