There is a caning law in Malaysia.
Not only in Aceh, it turns out caning is also applied in Malaysia. Another name for caning is sebat which is physical punishment that involves hitting with a rattan or bamboo stick. The interesting fact is that this punishment is applied only for offenses such as adultery, drinking alcohol, and khalwat (being together without marriage) based on the Sharia justice system.
