China's Aircraft Carrier Fujian Out For Sea Trials, Beijing In Race With US To Be Naval Superpower
China began the sea trial of its third and most advanced aircraft carrier on May 1. Fujian, entirely designed and built domestically, features a full-length, flat flight deck. The Fujian is larger than its predecessors, which will enable it to support a more robust airwing. For the first time in the Chinese navy, the Fujian features an EMALS catapult system that will enable it to launch heavier and larger fixed-wing aircraft. Watch the video to find out more.
