Protests in Georgia have continued in a last-ditch effort to prevent the passing of a controversial law. Critics of the governing Georgian Dream party are calling the bill the "Russia law". This is due to a similar law being passed in Russia in 2012, which has since been used to crack down people critical of the government there. On Monday morning, Georgian Dream lawmakers rushed it through a committee vote, approving it in 67 seconds. The final voting on the proposed legislation is scheduled for Tuesday.
