Goal reports Michael Carrick has changed Manchester United's post-match training routine, giving players a day off immediately after games with the recovery session moved to the following day. The shift departs from the methods of Ruben Amorim and Erik ten Hag, who insisted on recovery sessions the day after matches and required players who had not played at least 45 minutes to complete a full training session.

Carrick has overseen three straight wins since taking over, beating Manchester City, Arsenal and Fulham, and has relaxed other rules such as later matchday arrival compared with Ten Hag's requirement that players arrive at least four hours before kick-off. He is managing injury issues, saying of Mason Mount: "Just took a bit of a knock in training, it is nothing serious, he will be back very very soon." On Patrick Dorgu he added: "Pat, unfortunately, he's going to be out for a period of time.

We're still working through how long that's going to be.
