BANNED CIGARETTE RACKET BUSTED SEIZED Rs.8,00,000/- WORTH BANNED CIGARETTES On 08-05-2023 the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team apprehended one person by name Vipul Ranka who is procuring, transporting and selling the banned cigarettes from the premises No. 14-1-185, Seetharampet, Mangalhat, Hyderabad and earning money illegally. Seized Rs.8 Lakhs worth rupees banned Cigarettes packets from his possession. Details of accused:- 1) Vipul Ranka S/o Veer Chand Ranka, Age: 38 Years, Occ: Business, R/o H. No: 15-1-515/2/528, Flat No: 101, Shikha Enclave, SA Bazar, Feelkhana, Begumbazar, Hyderabad. 2) Deepak Jadav S/o Umakanth Jadav, Age: 28 yrs , occ: Manager at Pragathi Transport, Mangalhat, Hyderabad. R/o. 14-1-182, Seetarampet, Mangalhat, Hyderabad. Ph: 9182866442, 7670881818. Previously accused involved in Below mentioned Crimes:- 1. Crime No: 56/2019 U/s 420 IPC COTPA 20(2) of PS Begumbazar. 2. Crime No: 172/2020 U/s 420, 188 IPC and COTPA 20 (2) of PS Shahinathgunj. Brief about the accused:- The accused Vipul Ranka is Habitual offender previously he was involved in similar type of cases from Shahinathgunj and Begumbazar Police stations is native of Hyderabad City. He started his confectionery business located near Aziz Plaza, Feel Khana, Begumbazar, Hyderabad. Further he started illegal business of transporting and selling the banned cigarettes, he used to store the banned cigarettes and transport the same by using Pragathi Transport located at 14-1-185, Seetharampet, Mangalhat, Hyderabad. Modus operandi:- The accused Vipul Ranka is running confectionery business located near Aziz Plaza, Feel Khana, Begumbazar, Hyderabad. Since so many years he uses Pragathi Transport for the purpose of transport for his confectionery business. But his earnings are not sufficient to meet his family and lavish expenses. As such he hatched a plan to purchase banned cigarettes i.e. Paris on lowest price from Delhi and sell the same in Hyderabad on highest price to earn easy money. By using his transporters contacts, he contacted some of the transporters at Delhi and started purchasing banned cigarettes on lowest price from them and selling the same in Hyderabad on highest price and earning money illegally. Since the starting of his illegal business of Banned cigarettes he uses the Pragathi Transport, Mangalhat, Hyderabad. He is procuring the banned cigarettes on lowest price and used to sell the same highest price in Hyderabad city. It is also found that there are no pictorial warnings on Cigarette packets. The accused was dishonestly and fraudulently procuring Cigarettes to avoid customs duty and also to avoid GST which is causing wrongful loss to Government and also cheating to the gullible people in the guise of original cigarettes, which is act of cause endanger to the human life. On 09-05-2023 the accused Vipul Ranka while transporting/selling banned cigarettes at premises No. 14-1-185, Seetharampet, Mangalhat, Hyderabad. Meantime the West Zone Task Force team apprehended him along with banned cigarettes i.e. Paris Total Worth Rs. 8, 00,000/-. l The arrested accused along with seized material was handed over to SHO, Mangalhat PS, Hyderabad for further investigation. The arrest was made under the supervision of Sri P.Radha Kishan Rao, Dy.Commissioner of Police(OSD) Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad by Sri Mohd Khaleel Pasha, Inspector of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team, and SIs Sri Sheik Kaviuddin, of West Zone Task Force and staff of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, Hyderabad.
